  • Visit Whenuakura Wildlife Sanctuary, a geographically unique and historically significant site that was once home to the native Tuatara reptiles.
  • Explore a secret lagoon with stunning blue waters on a secluded island off the coast of the New Zealand's beautiful Coromandel coastline.
  • Learn about the local history of the area and island and it's significance to wildlife conservation and as "taonga" by the local Māori population.

The experience will start with a detailed safety talk on the beach including the basics on how to paddle on a sit on top kayak. Our experienced guides will help customers with launching and have several stops throughout the paddle covering some of the historical aspects of this beautiful area. While entering the cave paddlers will receive instructions on how to handle the conditions making sure you are safe at all times

After visiting Whenuakura Island the group will head towards Hauturu Island where a traditional KawaKawa Tea will be shared with the group. This is a great part of the experience as our guides will visit different spots, according the the day's conditions, pointing out native birds and sea life present in the area (including seals during the winter months).
